Auroral Reverie is an original composition for brass quintet, developed as part of an experimental project using NASA deep space footage. The piece, featuring one trumpet, two horns, one trombone, one tuba, and sampled percussion, explores innovative orchestral techniques and idiomatic brass writing. The project required rigorous music preparation, including detailed orchestration and the integration of sampled percussion. The work was recorded by a Brass Quintet and involved comprehensive composition, orchestration, conducting, and mixing by Alexandra Farr.
